“WHAT DOES IT MEAN?”
The name Path of Alightment showed up for me during meditation a few years ago. I had been working on my own journey for so many years while feeling that there had to be a broader reason for my relentless searching. I wanted to do something for others with my experience, but I wasn’t sure what that would be. As I felt into it, my heart lit up, and I knew it was given to me for a reason.
Unsurprisingly, the definition was perfect:
v. alight: to descend (as from a form of transport); to come to rest, settle (as a bird to a tree branch).
To “alight on,” means to find something by chance, or notice something.
adj. alight: on fire, burning; full of light, illuminated, shining brightly.
To “set the world alight,” means to do something remarkable or sensational.
The significance to me is that along the path of self inquiry, we find ourselves in various stages of noticing and releasing what no longer serves us, and settling into new versions of ourselves. We may need to move to a completely new path, as one would by moving from one form of transport to another. We may finally feel the fire within of true embodiment. We may even come to rest in a place of mastery. Certainly, to set your own world alight through the alchemy of transformation, to soar in the full knowledge of your own power, is entirely remarkable… and dare I say, sensational.
My work would become a way to offer you the experience of going within to find your own answers. I am not here to teach you anything you don’t already know. I’m simply here to remind you of how powerful you are.
A few months later I set up a business, knowing it would eventually be the container for what I was meant to do. I had no idea how or when, I just knew I was supposed to begin with the name.
